You FM is youth orientated station provided by Hessischer Rundfunk (HR), the public broadcasting organisation for the German state of Hesse. The station was originally named HR XXL with an emphasis on electronic and alternative music but was relaunched on 1 January 2004 as You FM with a more mainstream sound to distance itself from the techno image. You FM is currently fifth in the Hessen market with an average 41,000 listeners per hour, lagging behind rival Top 40 station Planet Radio.
