BBC Wiltshire wanted to freshen the sound of their imaging and decided upon a combination of custom cuts to sit alongside a selection of remixed and resung cuts from the S2blue BBC Essex package.

The group and solo vocals were recorded in London and featured Tommy Blaze, who has recently been part of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing vocal team. Check out photos from the session below.

The original BBC Essex package featured an extensive string section which gave it a warm feel and the remixes of these cuts refreshed the overall sound.

We have recently sent out copies of our new S2blue Imaging Showreel, featuring some of the packages we’ve recently produced; from the cutting edge urban influenced Yarr Radio package to the BBC Radio Humberside package, which features overdubs by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. High Peak Radio & Ashbourne Radio Imaging

In the last few months we’ve also produced an imaging package for Ashbourne Radio alongside some new custom cuts, all sung for it’s parent station High Peak Radio, to compliment their existing package.

Midwest Radio Imaging

We’ve also provided imaging packages for both the new Midwest Radio stations (formally Ivel FM & Vale FM). The package was a hybrid of custom cuts & resings from our Lakeland Radio package.

Insight Radio Christmas Overdubs

As mentioned in the last newsletter, we resang Steve’s ‘Lighten Up’ package for Insight Radio early last year, as part of the Connected ‘resing’ offer we have. Classic PAMS Resings

Over the last couple of months we have resung a number of classic PAMS jingles.

S2blue win another TLRC ComProd Contract

We have been awarded one of The Local Radio Company 2008 commercial production contracts for the second year running. We won one of the initial contracts last year to work for all 28 stations within the group and look forward to continuing our work with them.

S2blue assist at Image+, !mpact + & Total Recall Presentations

Over the past few months S2blue has assisted in a number of Image+ & !mapct+ presentation weeks for Central FM, 2BR, Manx Radio, Spirit FM, Silk FM, Spire FM & Minster FM.

Mostly Media/CLIC Charity Golf Day 2008

For the second year running S2blue took part in the Mostly Media Charity Golf Day in aid of the CLIC Sargent. Despite the fact none of us play golf we had a go (Simon only lost 4 balls but did hit a goose with one!) & had a great time – pictures of our day are available by clicking here.

LaFontaine was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California with a blood clot in his lungs on August 22, 2008, and was reported as being in critical condition the following Tuesday. His family made a public appeal on the Mediabistro.com site. Don died September 1, 2008 following complications from pneumothorax.

In addition they are sending out our new imaging showreel to UK and Irish stations this week. JingleWorld Vol. 3 (our commercial jingle CD collection) has been sent off to be duplicated so that should be sent out in August.

Created by the team at GMG’s Rock Radio, and recorded at JonesTM in Dallas, Texas using some of the finest musicians around, Rock Radio 2008 captures the spirit of the classic rock genre, while providing all the mixes and elements needed in today’s market. Full themes, underscores, 30″ and 10″ mixes, solo logos, group logos, drones… it’s all here. In fact, Rock Radio got 200 tracks in total!

The TV ad which will air until the end of March includes a 50 strong gospel choir from local gospel church, Kings Choir who are based in Norton. The ad also contains 200 extras that were selected by entering via www.tfmradio.com

Gospel jingles from JonesTM are on a number of Bauer stations, including Key 103, Radio Aire, Hallam FM and Viking FM. Citybeat, The Bay and Heart 106.2 London have also recently started running gospel jingles from JonesTM.

The package is a true achievement and is the culmination of 4 months of focused composition, communication, coordination, scheduling, production, recording, editing and mixing made possible by the talent of Steven and Patrick, the clear vision laid out by Jonathan and Chris at LBC, and the 80 other persons instrumentally involved in the package.
